Matt Cutts of Google answers on how to we can optimize an ecommerce website where it have mostly products/pages which may not be necessarily be rich with keyword rich content. 

Matt Cutts says that it is a toughquestion and you should try to put the user hat and see what you get on typing for a product in a search engine.. and you will get lot of websites listed and all websites offer you with the product and you will get annoyed.

Matt here gives tips in how you can go ahead… 

I feel the answer to the question was that the content is king and try opting a site with content that going for a cookie cutter.
